Thank you Robin and Leslie so much for making this wonderful film about my parents. In my opinion, even though the film portrays a powerful love story as the central theme of my parents' shared life together, it also shows their creativity and how my father's career as a designer was so deeply dependent on the support provided by my mother.
But the film is about more than Elly and Henry, it's a film that also depicts the horror of the Holocaust without dwelling on it. It shows how the courage and ingenuity of a woman, my mother, was able to overcome this evil force. This theme is far reaching and speaks to aspects of human experience well beyond the lives of my parents.
Thank you both for making this truly fine film.
